Q:  How & who do you use to ship my cable after I order?

A:  We ship all our packages USPS Priority mail. We also pride ourselves in getting orders out fast & furiously! Keep reading and you will see more information regarding our shipping practices.


Q: How do I know which cable to order?

A: First thing you should do is remove the broken cable from your recliner. (keep reading the "How To" & hopefully we will answer your question below) The critical measurement you are looking for is the length from the bottom of the “clip” down to very end of “S hook” (see clip to S hook picture above). The total length of the cable is not as important. If it is a bit longer, it will be inside the recliner anyway. The critical measurement will not have the plastic sheathing on it and will be exposed cable.

Q: How do I get cable out of my recliner & can I do it myself?

A: Absolutely you can do it yourself! We consider this a DIY (Do It Yourself) project. Looks scary, but once you dig in, you will see how easy it really is. Your cable can be removed by flipping recliner over, or in some cases you may have to remove the cable from the back of your recliner. Once you see where the cable attaches, you will need to remove the screws from the attachment piece (keep the screws). Down a bit lower from the attachment you will see the “clip”. Detach the “clip” and the S-hook on the end should follow. If not, give it a little help. Make a mental note of how you just removed that cable because you will have to put the new one back in the same way, only backwards. Hey! You are doing it!! Good job!!

Remember that you can call your local furniture repair or furniture medic shop, and they will come put it in for you. If you do decide to call them, it will cost you less if you already have the correct cable waiting for them to install. The furniture repair or furniture can order the cable for you, but it will cost you a bit more for the cable if they order it for you. So just go ahead and send us your order so you are ready to go when they get there! Make sure you let the furniture repair company know that you have the cable so they know before they come.


Q: Ours has a different attachment then the one on your web site. Now what do I do?

A: Some cables may have different attachment pieces. Some may have a 4 hole attachment
piece & some may have 2 hole attachment pieces. That is OK. The 2 hole attachment should
line up where the 4 hole was attached, and vice-a-verse. Once in a blue moon there is a manufacturer that has used a strange attachment pattern. That is OK as well. If this occurs, you may have to drill a small new hole so that your new cable will screw in. You can do it…don’t panic! It sounds harder then it is. Remember, this is a DIY project and you are much more handy then you think!! The strange attachment pattern scenario does not occur very often. 

Q: I forgot to read the "How To's" before I ordered & ordered wrong cable. Can I exchange it?

A: Of course you can, but first you should read everything on our web site, especially the “How To’s” and then you need to ship the wrong cable back to :

This address is on your packing slip. You need to make sure that you include the packing
slip in the return box with the cable you are returning. You also need to write on the packing slip the name of the cable you would like us to send you.
Example would be: You ordered a “Outside Flapper – Short” and the critical measurement is to short. You want to exchange it for the “Outside Flapper – Long”. So you would write on the packing slip that you are exchanging the "Outside Flapper - Short" and would like us to send you a "Outside Flapper - Long". By doing all the above, we will be able to get you out the right cable much faster! Yep, and get you back into that recliner and those feet up where they belong!

Q: How do I measure the “Outside Handle”?

A: On the “Outside Handle” you will be measuring the width of the bar that sticks out of the
side of your recliner. This is the bar that the handle you are needing slips over.  It will measure 1/2 or 5/8 inch. If you have an older piece of furniture, it may measure 3/8 inches. If this is the case, we apologize in advance. We can no longer get the 3/8 inch size. We do have brown handles in the 5/8 inch and 1/2 inch.  The black only comes in the 5/8 inch. We are sorry we can’t get black in 1/2 inch. We will keep looking for a supplier. Keep in touch if this is the handle you are looking for.

Q: I need my cable yesterday. How long will it take to get to me?

A: We take great pride in getting orders out within 48 hours or less from the time you order.
Most packages will arrive in 4-6 days by USPS priority mail if in the US. If you are out of the US, it will take longer to get to you. We have had packages disappear….never to be found again after they have left us. This does not happen often, but it has. That is why you receive a tracking number by email when your order is processed. We are pretty proud of our fast shipping! We know that when your cable breaks that you can not get those feet up!! So we work hard to get you back into that recliner....FAST!

Q: I do not want to put my credit/debit card out there in cyberspace. Can you take my
payment over the phone? Or how can I order?

A: Sorry but we are not set up to take phone orders. We are a “on line business”. We use
Pay Pal to make sure your information is secure & protected. You do not have to have a Pay Pal account to use our site. If you are still not comfortable, you can email us and we will let you know how to mail us a check. This will slow down your order and may take up to 2+ weeks before you receive your cable. We have to receive your check, process your order and get it out. If that time frame is OK with you, it is OK with us as well. Pay Pal does process e-checks, and this is a little faster than mailing us a check.
